East Belfast Speaks Out!
Background
A small committee from Roy Garland’s Union Group (www.uniongroup.org.uk) is organizing a debate event inviting leading politicians and commentators to face a public audience.
It is to be during September 2009 in East Belfast. The intention is to make this an annual event in various venues in East Belfast. The first venue is to be Ashfield Boys School (map) and possibly Campbell College for 2010.
The date of the 2009 event is to be the evening of Wednesday 30th September.
The first question from the audience will be at 7.30pm and the event will finish at 9.00pm.
Debate Aims
- to provide access to leading politicians
- to endeavour to encourage active participation in politics from a cross-section of what can only be seen as a silent majority
